Welcome!
Ed Ronco
When I came to The State News in January 2001, I came for practice. I
figured I would spend a semester or two learning how to improve my
copy so that when I met my journalistic destiny - TV news, at the
time - I would be a sharp writer in addition to a talented
broadcaster.
Four years later, I'm wrapping up my term as editor in chief. What
started out as "practice" ended up as the love of my MSU career.
Each story I covered - from a five-day series on science at MSU to
local reaction on Sept. 11, 2001 - taught me that this business isn't
about who looks the best doing their job. It's about who does their
job.
All I can hope is that I've done my job to the best of my abilities,
that I lent context and understanding to the people who chose to read
my stories, and that you, reading this, will agree.
