Tailgating

Since when is the idea of a party getting up at 3am? I guess that is why the real party people never go to sleep so they can get in line the night before to get a prime tailgating spot before the U of M vs. MSU football game.
Who are these people that do this? What are their traditions? And am I really missing anything on those Saturday mornings while I sleep?
